The platform combines infrastructure and expertise with the aim to accelerate the investigation of high consequence viruses. It enables isolation of hazardous pathogens and their characterisation in the most physiological conditions in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo.

Containment laboratories for the safe handling of infectious agents up to Biosafety Level 3 (BSL3) are equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation for high content imaging used for functional screenings and drug discovery.
