The Deep Tech Revolution has officially kicked off. 🚀

Following the call launched in 2025, Area Science Park has selected five high-tech startups that will now enter a 12-month support program combining financial support and privileged access to advanced research services, including those offered by PRP@CERIC.

With a total budget of €1 million, the initiative supports breakthrough technologies in life sciences, advanced materials, green energy and digital innovation. The Deep Tech Revolution attracted 187 expressions of interest, leading to 80 full project applications from across Italy, representing 14 regions and a wide spectrum of high-tech sectors.

PRP@CERIC Supporting Deep Tech Innovation

PRP@CERIC platforms and services are directly supporting three of the selected startups, providing advanced analytical tools and scientific expertise:

  • The Advanced Microspectroscopy Platform will provide chemical and phenotypic characterization to Soundsafe Care, a spinoff of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa developing a robotic device for non-invasive tissue mechanical ablation.
  • The Multi-Omics Platform, together with the Structural Biology and Mechanobiology Platforms, will provide genomic and epigenomic analyses, structural biology studies, and atomic force microscopy measurements, respectively, to support Yeastime, which is advancing ultrasound technologies for the bioeconomy of microalgae.
  • The Mechanobiology Platform will provide atomic force microscopy services to support Novac, which is developing a structural supercapacitor pack embedded in a reinforced carbon fiber shell for automotive applications.

Strengthening the Bridge Between Research and Industry

The Deep Tech Revolution initiative represents more than a funding program: it is a concrete step toward consolidating collaboration between research infrastructures and industrial innovation.
