Overview:
Single-cell RNA-seq resolves transcriptomes at the level of individual cells, capturing cellular heterogeneity, rare cell populations, and dynamic states. High-throughput droplet-based platforms (10x Genomics Chromium) profile thousands of cells per sample. Typical workflows require viable single-cell suspensions or single nuclei from fresh, frozen, or fixed tissues. Applications include immune profiling, tumor microenvironment analysis, developmental biology, cell atlas projects, and biomarker discovery.
